NWAC Tourney Bids Locked – Spokane (East), Tacoma (West)
- Tacoma 4, Lower Columbia 1 – Tacoma continued to dominate on the mound as Isaac Evaniew went 7 innings of 4 hit, 1 run baseball while striking out 8. Taiga Yamane brought it home striking out 3 over the final 2 frames. Aaron Robertson threw it well in relief for LC (4.2ip, 1ER, 7K). TCC got on the board first on a Trent Buchanan RBI single in the 3rd. Down 3-0 in the 7th, LC got one back on a Justin Stransky RBI knock. TCC officially punches their ticket to Longview (VIDEO).
- Lower Columbia 4, Tacoma 0 – LC took the final game of the 4-game set. Max Richards (2-3, R, 2B, 2RBI) led the LC offense in this one. Ethan Stacy & Liam Kerr each singled home a run.
- Treasure Valley 6, Wenatchee Valley 5 (11 inn) – TV’s Nick Eliason went 7, allowed 2 runs and K’d 9, WVC countered with Devin Fry, who went 6 strong, allowing 1 run and strking out 4. WVC scored 1 run in the first on a Zach Lofgren 2B, after that the teams exchanged runs alternating between a WVC 1-run lead and a tie game. Treasure Valley would walk it off on a Trey Schofield RBI single (VIDEO).
- Treasure Valley 13, Wenatchee Valley 12 – TV was down 10-1 entering the bottom of the 5th. After that, they outscored WVC 12-2, including the walk-off winner in the 10th thanks to a Joey Raker Sac Fly. Wenatchee Valley’s offense was led by Nick Giesinger, (2-5, 2R, HR, 3RBI) while TVC got great days from Austin Ollar (1-2, R, HR, RBI) and Braden Horsley (2-3, 4RBI).
- Columbia Basin 5, Walla Walla 3 – Walla Walla put up a 3 spot in the first, but were unable to add on as Columbia Basin chipped away, tied it on a Will Baker RBI single and eventually took the lead on a Brooks Rasmussen (2-4, R, RBI) single in the 4th. Sebastian Munoz had the last 6 innings on lockdown for CBC (0H, 1BB, 5K).
- Columbia Basin 8, Walla Walla 0 – CBC’s Jace Wessels (5ip, 5K) and Cole Pearson (4ip, 5K) took care of the pitching while Nick Grade (1-2, 2R, 2RBI) and Alex Rodriguez (2-4, R, 2B, 2RBI) paced the Thunder O. Christian Dill recorded 2 of the Walla Walla 4 hits in the game.
- Spokane 11, Blue Mountain 2 – Big days from Brock Bozett (3-3, 2R, 2 HR, 7RBI), Braeden Cordes (3-5, 3R, 2B, 3RBI), and Eric Mast (2-4, 2R, HR, RBI) led the Spokane O while Jasper Nelson struck out 8, allowing 2 earned over 5+ innings. Diego Robison (2-4) drove in both runs for BMCC on an RBI single in the 5th.
- Spokane 2, Blue Mountain 0 – A Jeter Schuerman solo shot in the 4th was all the offense needed in this one. Schuerman finished the day 3-3, R, HR, RBI, SB. Cooper Marshall went 6 strong for BMCC, allowing just 2 runs and striking out 3. Spokane starter Daniel Charron went 5, scattered 4 hits and K’d 6 before handing it to the pen (4ip, 1H, 4K).
- Bellevue 6, Skagit Valley 0 – Rylen Bayne goes complete game shutty, scattering 5 hits, and striking out 7 for Bellevue. BC’s offense came courtesy of Eunsang Yu (1-3, 2R, 2B, 2RBI) and Remy Heckman (2-4, 2B, 3RBI). Skagit Valley did get a great relief appearance from Payton Robertson (5ip, 0ER, 4K).
- Skagit Valley 8, Bellevue 1 – Skagit splits the day as Ryan Morrill goes CG, 0ER, 2 K for the Cardinals. Kobe Sandstrom drove home 2 and Kyle Henington went 2-3, R, 2B, RBI for SVC. Kenji Suzuki recorded a 3-hit day in the loss for BC.
- Yakima Valley 12, Big Bend 2 – Coby Richards (5ip, 1ER, 3K) and Jagger Harris (3ip, 1H, 2K) threw it well for the Yaks while Corey Jarrell (4-5, R, SB) and Danny Burns (3-4, R, 2 2B, 4RBI) helped key the Yakima Valley win. The Yaks stole 10 bases in the game, led by (Spencer Marenco 2-3, 2R, RBI) with 3.
- Yakima Valley 6, Big Bend 5 (10 inn) – A game that saw Big Bend hold a 4-run lead twice, the Yaks scored 4 runs in the 7th, including a Brock Molenda RBI double, to tie it at 5. Yaks walked it off with a bases loaded walk to sweep the day
- Mt Hood 5, Lane 4 – Jeff Nelson pitched into the 9th for Mt Hood, striking out 6. Alex Sol (3-4, R, RBI) and Irving Alvarez (3-4, R) had 3 hit games while Rikuu Nishida drove in 2 and Brooks Robertson went deep. A Bryan Rojas RBI single in the 4th tied the game at 1, and a Tyson Heinz RBI single in the 5th tied the game at 2 before Mt Hood pulled away. Lane put up 2 in the bottom of the 9th, but Rory Lampe was able to record the final out with the bases loaded.
- .Mt Hood 5, Lane 4 – Mt Hood put up a 5 spot in the 5th and held on to win by the same score as game 1. Alex Sol (1-3, R, 2B, RBI) and Trevor Saire (2-3, R, RBI) paced the Mt Hood O. Tyson Heinz homered in the 5th and Brock Packer hit an RBI double in the 6th to get Lane within one. Lane would get the tying run to 2nd but Dorian Broadus was able to work around it for the save.
- Pierce 3, Green River 1 – Reid Madariaga was filthy in this one, finishing 9ip, 4H, 0ER, 12K. GRCC’s Tanner Smith threw a great game as well, going 7.2ip, 1ER, 1K. Pitching was the story all game as the teams only combined for 7 hits (6 singles) in 9 innings. In the 10th, Pierce pushed 2 across and then turned to Tyler McGowan, who struck out the side for the win.
- Pierce 5, Green River 2 – Parker Goin pitched 6+ strong innings (1H, 2R, 8K) and the Raiders stole 7 bags in this one to complete the day’s sweep. RBI singles by Marques Richards, Caden Stinson and Garrett Smith led the O. Shane Buchanan pitched well for Green River, pitching into the 6th inning, allowing 3 runs and striking out 7 Raiders.
- Umpqua 7, SW Oregon 1 – Umpqua starter Carson Angeroth was great over 7 innings, allowing just the 1 run while striking out 8. Shea Bowen and Clinton Rivers each hit 2-run doubles for the Riverhawks.
- SW Oregon 6, Umpqua 2 – Jordan Cezar (5ip, 0R, 8K) spun a gem for SWOCC while Cannon Morgan was a key contributor on offense (3-5, 2RBI) in the 4 run win. Umpqua cut the lead to 5-2 on a Justin Hausne SAC Fly but Bula White hit an RBI triple in the 9th to put this one on ice.
