The George Fox Bruins finished the 2023 season with a 15-21 record overall, 9-15 in conference, and finished 7th in the Northwest Conference. The Bruins began NWC play 2-9 before turning things around, winning series at Puget Sound, at Whitworth, and home against Whitman in the 2nd half of the year.
February
The season kicks off with the Concordia Classic in Austin, Texas the weekend of February 16th. The Bruins will play two games against Schreiner University (18-22) and two games against Concordia Texas (25-17). All games are played at Concordia Texas in Austin, TX. They played in the tournament last year as well, going 3-1 against Hardin-Simmons, Texas Lutheran, and Concordia Texas. GFU returns home for non-conference doubleheaders at home versus GNAC foes Central Washington (22-29) and Saint Martin’s (15-29).
March
Northwest Conference play begins with a road series at Whitman (24-19). NWC play pauses for the Bruins the following week as they welcome two schools from the east coast – Vassar College (20-18) and UMass Boston (24-18). Conference play resumes with with home series versus Pacific Lutheran (17-19) and Lewis & Clark (31-13) with a road trip to Puget Sound (19-16) sandwiched in-between.
April
In April, the Bruins play three conference series. They head to McMinnville to take on Linfield (13-24) at the beginning of the month, return home to face Pacific (25-15), and then hit the road again for a series at Willamette (25-13). The month concludes with a single home game against California Lutheran (29-17).
May
The Bruins stay home for the final four games of the regular season. May begins with one non-conference game against Linfield before Whitworth (11-27) comes to town to conclude the regular season. The Northwest Conference Tournament begins Friday, May 10th, hosted by the top seed.
