The Warriors are ranked #3 in the NAIA pre-season coaches’ poll, and were runners-up in last year’s Baseball National Championship. They have traditionally played strong schedules, but they have outdone themselves this season. They will start the season at the East/West Challenge in Mesa, AZ and Phoenix February 1-3. The first game will be against Tennessee Wesleyan (preseason rank #6, 43-11 last season), a perennial NAIA power. The second game will be against Southeastern (#1, 58-6), who defeated the Warriors 5-2 in the second round of last year’s Baseball National Championship. The Fire finished 3-2 in the tournament, and split two games with eventual champion Westmont. To make this matchup a bit more difficult, this will be (barring rainouts) the Fire’s fifth game of the season. The third game will be against Bellevue (#7, 48-10), who were also in last year’s Baseball National Championship, finished 0-2. The fourth game will be against Saint Thomas (FL) (27-24).

Next on the schedule is a double-header at Hope International (#11, 33-11) February 6. The Warriors and Royals met in last year’s Opening Round bracket, and the Warriors won 15-14. The next day, they visit Vanguard (#17, 35-18), and conclude the road trip at Saint Katherine (17-21) on February 8.

The Warriors open their home schedule with a four-game non-conference series against defending Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament champion British Columbia (35-21). Later in the season, April 19-21, they will go to Vancouver for a conference four game series against the Thunderbirds. They will open conference play at Corban (16-30) March 15-16, and have a major conference matchup at defending regular season champion Oregon Tech (33-19) March 29-30.

And there’s more; a non-conference series at home against perennial NAIA power LSU-Shreveport (#5, 47-10) April 12-14. This makes a total of ten games against teams with pre-season rankings. Toward the end of the season, they will, as usual, host an Opening Round bracket May 13-16, and, again as usual, host the Baseball National Championship May 24-31.
