The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) released its preseason baseball poll, with perennial powerhouse Lewis-Clark State (37-18 overall, 14-10 in conference in 2023) expected to claim another conference title. Lewis-Clark State garnered four first-place votes to top the poll, marking the third straight year the Warriors have been tabbed as preseason favorites. Despite missing out on the CCC regular season and tournament titles last season, Lewis-Clark State finished as NAIA World Series runner-up for the second time in three years.
The University of British Columbia (35-21, 16-8), defending CCC tournament champions and 2023 co-regular season title holders with Oregon Tech, came in second in voting with one first-place vote. Oregon Tech (33-19, 16-8) grabbed the third spot after sharing last year’s regular season championship with UBC, while earning two first-place votes.
The College of Idaho (31-18, 15-9) comes in at the fourth spot and Bushnell University (23-25, 11-13) in fifth, with Corban (16-30, 10-14) and Eastern Oregon (3-39, 2-22) rounding out the poll.
Nationally, Lewis-Clark State represented the CCC in the NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll, checking in at No. 3 and securing two first-place votes. The Warriors aim to capture their 20th national championship in program history this spring.
Meanwhile, co-regular season champs UBC (44 votes) and Oregon Tech (8) received votes but fell outside the top 25. Both programs look to build off last season’s success and make a push into the national rankings.
The CCC tournament runs May 4-6, hosted by the regular-season winner, with the victor securing the conference’s automatic berth to the 2024 NAIA Baseball Championship.
