After getting a win at Jessup yesterday, Bushnell lost both ends of a double-header, 5-2 and 3-6. In the first game, two of Jessup’s runs were unearned. The rest of the damage was done in the third inning, when Trey Furrey (there’s that name again) hit an RBI double, and Connor Culp and Kayde Iranon hit RBI singles. Furrrey got another RBI when he drew an walk in the sixth inning. Cade Crist went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Beacons. Nolan Thebiay got the win for the Warriors, starter Max Chapman got the loss.
The Beacons started the second game with a home run by Ethan Stacy and a two-RBI single by Brandon Reed. The Warriors got two in the bottom of the first, and the 3-2 lead held up until the sixth inning, when James Williams III hit a three-run home run. Trey Furrey completed the scoring with an RBI single. Reed finished 2-for-3 with the two RBI. Ryan Stone got the win; he held the Beacons hitless over the final 3 1/3 innings, struck out four, hit three batters. Alec Gums got the loss. recap The Warriors are 6-1 against CCC teams.
College of Idaho lost 16-8 to Ottawa (AZ), completing a three-game sweep for the Spirit. The game was tied 8-8 after six innings, but the Spirit exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, led by a three-RBI double by Logan Meyer. Kris Kirkpatrick went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, and two RBI for the Coyotes. Darren Smith hit a three-RBI double. Daniel Durazo finished 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, three RBI, and five runs scored for the Spirit. Trey Trimble, who held the Coyotes scoreless over the last 4 2/3 innings, got the win. Oliver Massie, who pitched the seventh inning, got the loss. recap
After a rainout on Friday, Corban played three seven-inning games at Antelope Valley, and lost all three of them, 6-2, 5-3, and 18-6. The winning run in the first game was on an RBI double by Danny Rodriguez in the fourth inning. Brad Pellkofer went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for the Warriors. Tyler Deyoung got the win, Bryce Bridge got the loss.
The winning run in the second game came on a home run by Noah Blythe in the fifth inning. Hayden Wilson went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Warriors. Caleb Ruiz got the win, Hayden Van Acker got the loss.
In the third game, the Warriors got a run in the top of the first on an RBI double by Nainoa Ka’ahunui, and it was all Pioneers after that. They got all the runs they needed with six runs in the third inning, including a three-run home run by Amir Pineiro. They added four runs in the fifth inning, and seven runs in the sixth inning. Ka’ahunui finished 3-for-4 with two RBI. Joshua Nickel got the win, and Avery Williamson got the loss. recap
