British Columbia, Oregon Tech, and Eastern Oregon got wins.
British Columbia
9, Lewis-Clark State 5 At
Vancouver, BC. Daniel Orfaly got the start for the Thunderbirds, held
the Warriors scoreless for five innings, ultimately pitched six
innings, allowed no earned runs on five hits, struck out six. The
Thunderbirds led 6-1 when he left the game, with a two-RBI pinch-hit
single by Kyle Anderson, RBI singles by David Krahn and Mitchell
Middlemiss, a solo home run by Krahn, and an RBI when Aaron Marsh
reached on a fielder’s choice.
The
shutout ended in the sixth inning, when Dominic Signorelli scored
after getting on base when a fly ball he hit to center field was lost
on the sun. (How often does that happen in Vancouver?) At the same
time, the Warriors got 2 2/3 shutout innings by reliever Zachary
Ediger. They made it a one-run game with four runs in the top of the
eighth, with a solo home run by Signorelli, followed by a three-run
home run by Garrett Bevacqua. However, the Thunderbirds answered with
an RBI double by Krahn and a two-run home run by Jonny McGill in the
bottom of the eighth. Alex Lee, who entered the game in the eighth
inning, held the Warriors to one hit to earn a save.
Orfaly
got the win, and Warrior starter Robby Butenschoen got the loss.
Krahn went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. Jakob
Marquez went 4-for-5 with an RBI for the Warriors. Box

The series was tied at two games apiece. McGill went 8-for-18 with
eight RBI and three home runs for the series.
Oregon Tech 14,
Corban 6 At Keizer, OR. The
Hustlin’ Owls led all the way, starting with a two-RBI single by
Ka’ala Tam in the first inning. Tam added a two-run home run in the
fifth inning. The Owls also got a two-run home run by Tyler Horner in
the ninth inning.
Julien
Jones went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Patrick Barry went
2-for-5 with a triple, a double, and two RBI. Starter Carson Glavich
got the win; he pitched five innings, allowed two runs on three hits.
Warrior starter Peyton Rickard got the loss. Joshua Miyazawa hit a
home run for the Warriors. Box

Owls swept the four-game series.
Eastern Oregon
11, College of Idaho 3 At La
Grande, OR. The Mountaineers led all the way, starting with a
three-run home run in the first inning by Carson Gerding. They got
the winning run with a two-RBI single by Rogelio Gonzalez in the
fourth inning. Gerding hit another three-run home run in the seventh
inning, and Trevor Baker added a two-run home run in the eighth
inning.
Danny
Burns got the win for the Mountaineers. He pitched 7 1/3 innings,
allowed one run on six hits, struck out six. Starter Jackson Cummins
got the loss. Box
