Oregon Tech swept a double-header vs. College of Idaho, British Columbia and Bushnell got wins.
British Columbia 17, Corban 4 at
Keizer, OR. The Thunderbirds got seven runs in the top of the first
inning. David Krahn started it off with a solo home run, and Mitchell
Middlemiss hit a two-run home run. Aaron Marsh hit a two-run home run
in the fourth inning, and The Thunderbirds scored five more runs in
the fifth inning, including a two-run home run by Krahn, and a solo
home run by Trent Lenihan.
Ryan Heppner started for the
Thunderbirds, pitched five innings, allowed one earned run on five
hits, struck out seven. Evan Hoegler pitched the next two innings,
allowed zero runs on two hits. Lucas Huynh went the rest of the way,
allowed two runs on two hits. Middlemiss finished 3-for-4 with a home
run, a double, and three RBI. Aaron Marsh was a base hit short of
hitting for the cycle; he hit a home run, a triple, and a double, and
had three RBI. box

The Thunderbirds lead the series
three games to zero. They will play one more on Monday.
Bushnell 17, Warner Pacific 0 at
Springfield, OR. The Beacons got all the runs they needed in the
bottom of the first with a three-run home run by Jordan Wilson. They
got six more runs in the first, then got five runs in the fourth, led
by a two-RBI single by Cade Crist. Kai Keamo and Ethan Sachs combined
for the four-hit shutout. Three of the hits were off Keamo, who
struck out ten during five innings of work. Sachs pitched the
remaining four innings, allowed one hit, struck out two. Kolby Amaral
went 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI. Jameson Hussey went
3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. box

Oregon Tech 11, College of Idaho 1 at
Klamath Falls, OR. Halted by the run rule after eight innings. The
Hustlin’ Owls got all the runs they needed with a two-RBI double by
Julien Jones in the bottom of the first. They added a run scored on a
wild pitch in the second inning, then scored four runs in the bottom
of the third on an RBI single by Keanu Mizuta, a run scored on a hit
batter, Mizuta coming home on a double play, and Tyler Horner hitting
an RBI triple. Horner hit an RBI single in the eighth to give the
Owls the ten-run margin.
Horner finished 5-for-6 with a
triple and five RBI. Starter Isaac Hill got the win; he pitched six
innings, allowed one run on six hits, struck out four. box

Oregon Tech 9, College of Idaho 0.
Five Hustlin’ Owl pitchers; Carson Glavich, Noah Loew, Brian
McClelland, Kaden Melzer, and Jaden Domingsel, combined for the
three-hit shutout. Glavich started, pitched five innings, allowed two
hits, struck out four. Loew, McClelland, and Domingsel pitched
hitless innings, and Domingsel pitched a perfect inning. Melzer
allowed a hit, but also recorded two strikeouts.
Julien Jones hit a three-run
home tun in the bottom of the first inning. Matthew Ortiz hit a
sacrifice fly in the fourth. In the fifth, the Owls got a run walked
in and a three-run home run by Ka’ala Tam. Korrey Siracusa hit a
sacrifile fly to complete the scoring.
Tam finished 3-for-3 with the
home run and three RBI. Jackson Cummins got the loss. Connor Olsen
got two of the Coyotes’ three hits. box
