Game 5: Spokane 6, Everett 1 (Everett eliminated)
The Spokane Sasquatch turned a scoreless battle into a decisive 6-0 rout of Everett in an elimination game at the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship on Friday at David Story Field. For six innings, both teams’ pitchers dominated. Spokane’s Josh Sterba threw seven scoreless frames, allowing five hits, two walks, and fanning four to earn the victory. Everett’s Blake Sandvik was equally sharp, pitching 5.2 shutout innings with three strikeouts and no walks. The game’s turning point came in the seventh when Spokane loaded the bases with two outs via three walks. Joe Thornton’s single drove in two, and an error by Everett’s pitcher allowed another run, making it 3-0. In the ninth, Reese Vassar’s two-RBI single and Drew Stevens’ sacrifice fly added three more runs. Spokane’s relievers, Tyler Alm and David Barnes, each pitched a scoreless inning to lock down the win.

Game 6: Bellevue 8, Columbia Basin 1 (CBC eliminated)
The Bellevue Bulldogs powered past Columbia Basin 8-1 in the final elimination game of Day Two. Scoreless through two innings, Bellevue broke through in the third when Braeden Reese scored on Jackson May’s sacrifice bunt, aided by a Columbia Basin error. The Bulldogs surged in the fourth, as Oliver Hogan’s RBI double, an error, and Drew De La Cruz’s RBI single built a 4-0 lead. Columbia Basin answered in the fifth, with Jacob Reece scoring on an error, but Bellevue responded with De La Cruz’s two-RBI double, pushing the score to 6-1. In the eighth, Reese’s RBI double and Noah Fields’ RBI single sealed the 8-1 margin. Bellevue’s Terry Hayes pitched five strong innings, allowing one unearned run on five hits with five strikeouts. Ethan Thomas secured the save, tossing four innings with one hit and five strikeouts. Columbia Basin’s Dylan Schlenger struggled, surrendering six runs (four earned) over five innings. Reece led the Hawks with two hits, including a double.

Game 7: Tacoma 2, Umpqua 0
The Tacoma Titans leaned on uncommitted sophomore ace Dylon Veley’s stellar pitching performance to edge Umpqua 2-0 in a winners bracket game on Friday afternoon. The game opened with Tacoma striking first. In the first inning, Vaughn Lowe scored on Amari Goodfellow’s RBI double, giving the Titans an early 1-0 lead. Goodfellow delivered again in the third, singling to plate Lowe and push the lead to 2-0. Despite nine hits, Tacoma couldn’t add more, as Umpqua’s defense held firm. Tacoma’s Dylon Veley was nearly untouchable, tossing a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits—each singles—while striking out nine and walking none on 85 pitches. Umpqua’s Jordan Lennartson battled, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts, but took the loss. Brevin Harrison threw two scoreless relief innings for the RiverHawks.

Game 8: Linn-Benton 4, Lower Columbia 2
The Linn-Benton Roadrunners built an early lead and fended off a late push to defeat Lower Columbia 4-2 in the final game of Day Two here in Longview. Linn-Benton struck first in the second inning, as Jake Holmes scored on Conner Boyd’s RBI single, followed by Kolten Lindstrom’s two-RBI triple, plating Boyd and Brooks Avery for a 3-0 lead. The Roadrunners added a key insurance run in the seventh when Bryant Starr scored on an error by Lower Columbia’s Owen Cummins, making it 4-0. Lower Columbia mounted a rally in the eighth, loading the bases with no outs. Jace Nagler’s fielder’s choice RBI and Harlan Rowe’s RBI single cut the deficit to 4-2, but the Red Devils couldn’t draw closer. Linn-Benton’s Brody McMullen was stellar, pitching eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Easton Corey secured the save, navigating a scoreless ninth despite two walks. Lower Columbia’s Quinn Hubbs took the loss, yielding three runs on seven hits over five innings of work.
