Division II Western Oregon def. NAIA Bushnell in a midweek game in Monmouth, OR.

Yuzo Ishioka (Tokyo, Japan), in his first start (second appearance) for the Division II Wolves (10-7), pitched five shutout innings, allowed one hit, struck out four, and didn’t walk a batter. Three more Wolves pitchers allowed a total of three hits, and the result was a 4-1 win for the Wolves at home in Monmouth, OR.
The Wolves opened the scoring with Jacob Maiben scoring on a ground out by his twin brother, Derek Maiben. The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth, when Derek hit a sacrifice fly for the winning run. The Wolves added two more runs on an error. The Beacons got on the board in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly by Cayden Deloz. That sixth inning was the only time the Beacons got a runner as far as second base.

Starter Jahshua Yacapin got the loss, even though he was charged with only one run. He pitched two innings, recorded three strikeouts. Reliever Ethan Sachs put in a good relief appearance; 1 1/3 hitless innings. Ethan Stacy got two of the Beacons’ four hits.
