The Portland Pilots and head baseball coach Geoff Loomis recently announced their upcoming 2024 baseball schedule. Last season, the Pilots finished with a record of 31-23, 17-10 in West Coast Conference (WCC ) play, earning the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Pilots lost their first game of the double-elimination tournament to 3-seed Santa Clara, before knocking off 1-seed Loyola Marymount and 5-seed Santa Clara to reach the championship game, before losing in a rematch to Santa Clara.
The Pilots will open their season in California on February 16th with a three-game series against the San Diego State Aztecs (24-29). The team will then head to Southern Cal (34-23-1) to face the Trojans in a three-game series the following weekend.
March will see the Pilots on the road for the first half of the month, playing series against Utah Valley (34-24), Creighton (25-24), and Santa Clara (36-20). The Pilots will also have a midweek game at Omaha (21-28). The team’s home opener will take place on March 15th, when they host the Maryland Terrapins (42-21). Midweek games against Oregon State (41-20) and Oregon (41-22) will also take place during the month of March.
In April, the Pilots will host Pacific (6-21) and San Diego (24-24-1)for series at home. The team will also have a midweek game at Washington (35-20)before heading to Gonzaga (18-34) for a four-game series. The Pilots will wrap up the month with a three-game series at Loyola Marymount (29-24).
The Pilots will start off May with a home series against the San Francisco Dons (18-29). The team will then hit the road for a midweek game against Washington State (29-23) and a weekend series against Pepperdine (19-30). The Pilots will return home for a final home series against Saint Mary’s Gaels (23-28) to finish the regular season.
The 2024 West Coast Conference Baseball Tournament begins May 22nd and runs through May 25th at Las Vegas Ballpark in Las Vegas, Nevada. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
