Payton Flynn is no stranger to the spotlight this preseason. The Montana State Billings senior outfielder has added another accolade to his already impressive arsenal, earning an honorable mention on the 2024 NCBWA NCAA Division II Preseason All-America Teams.
Flynn’s latest honor extends a year-long streak of individual recognition that includes several prestigious lists, including the 1st Team All-GNAC, D2CCA All-West Region 2nd Team and ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-West Region 1st Team. This consistent praise speaks volumes about the offensive and defensive prowess Flynn brings to the Yellowjackets lineup.
Last season, Flynn established himself as the conference’s premier power hitter. He swung his bat with authority, leading the GNAC in home runs (14), RBIs (46), total bases (123), and slugging percentage (.728). His consistency extended beyond the long ball, as he finished the year with a stellar .361 batting average (fourth in the conference) and 16 doubles.
Flynn’s preseason recognition is the lone GNAC inclusion on the All-America list and is poised to solidify his place among the elite outfielders in Division II baseball.
