Oregon 9, Grand Canyon 4 – The Oregon Ducks baseball team rode a balanced offensive attack and solid pitching to defeat Grand Canyon 9-4 on Tuesday night. Heard finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Carter Garate, Justin Cassella, Bennett Thompson, and Drew Smith also had multi-hit games for the Ducks, who pounded out 14 hits on the night. After starter Turner Spoljaric exited with two outs in the fourth, the Ducks’ bullpen took over. Brock Moore (1-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief. Bradley Mullan earned his first save with 1.1 innings of shutout work.

(RV) Willamette 12, Bethany Lutheran 0 (7) – The Willamette Bearcats baseball team flexed its muscles in this one, shutting out Bethany Lutheran en route to a 12-0 mercy rule victory. The Bearcats seized control early and never relented. The Wildcats struck for runs in five of the seven innings, consistently putting pressure on Bethany’s pitching staff. The knockout blow came courtesy of a 7-run 6th inning outburst that put the game out of reach. On the mound, Willamette’s Nate Schikore was stellar, limiting Bethany to just a pair of singles over 5 shutout frames to earn the win. Offensively, Charlie Ferbet, Nate Hamburger, and Caden Davis provided the production at the plate, combining for 6 RBIs to pace Willamette’s win.
