SIU Edwardsville 5, Gonzaga 4 – The Bulldogs grabbed an early lead after slugger Jace Phelan blasted a solo home run in the 2nd. SIUE would homer twice over the next two innings and carry a 3-1 lead into the 5th. The Bulldogs would tie the game in the 5th after Jordan Hamberg hit an RBI triple and Josh Hankins brough Hamberg home with a single. Gage Mestas would give GU the lead in the 6th on an infield single to 3rd. However, in the bottom of the 6th, SIUE would tie the game on a Zags error and would take the lead for good in the 8th on a solo home run from Mitchell. Starter Miles Gosztola allowing 2 runs over 3 innings before the bullpen took over. Liam O’Brien took the loss despite striking out 3 over 1.1 innings.
