PNW Players of the Week Announced
Nine PNW baseball weekly honors were awarded to standout college players across five conferences. These PNW baseball weekly honors recognize Washington State’s Ollie Obenour (.462 average), Central Washington’s Brandham Ponce (4 HRs) and Daniel Charron (complete game shutout), Whitman’s Halen Otte (4 HRs), and Lewis-Clark State’s Jadon Williamson (15 strikeouts). These were each announced by their respective conferences.
Mountain West Conference (MWC)
Freshman of the Week – Ollie Obenour
San Jose native Ollie Obenour captured Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week honors after hitting .462 with two doubles and four RBI during Washington State’s series win against Seattle U. The freshman second baseman notched his first career three-hit game while helping the Cougars secure their second straight series victory.
Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC)
Hitter of the Week – Brandham Ponce
GNAC Player of the Week Brandham Ponce unleashed an offensive onslaught for Central Washington, blasting four home runs and driving in 14 RBIs across the four-game series against Western Oregon. The Federal Way senior’s highlight performance included a three-run homer and grand slam in a single game, propelling him to nine hits and eight runs scored while batting .316 for the weekend.
Pitcher of the Week – Daniel Charron
Central Washington’s Daniel Charron dominated Western Oregon to earn GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors, tossing a complete game shutout while allowing just three hits and striking out six batters. The right-hander masterfully controlled the Wolves’ lineup throughout all nine innings, facing only 33 batters in Saturday’s series-opening 4-0 victory.
Northwest Conference (NWC)
Hitter of the Week – Halen Otte
Whitman’s Halen Otte demolished Principia pitching to earn Player Student-Athlete of the Week honors, hammering four home runs—including a grand slam during his three-homer outburst in the series opener. The junior first baseman from Mercer Island was an offensive juggernaut throughout the four-game sweep, collecting eight hits and driving in an astounding 15 runs while crossing the plate seven times himself.
Pitcher of the Week – Jake Swenson
Sophomore sensation Jake Swenson earned NWC Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week honors after shutting down Carthage with a masterful three-hit, nine-strikeout performance in Linfield’s 14-0 victory at the Tucson Invitational Games. The reigning NWC Rookie of the Year and future UCLA Bruin continues to impress in his second campaign, maintaining a 3.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts over 18 innings.
Cascade Conference (CCC)
Hitter of the Week – Jonny McGill
UBC senior Jonny McGill earned CCC Baseball Player of the Week honors after a blistering performance during the Thunderbirds’ sweep of College of Idaho. The Richmond native terrorized opposing pitchers with a .526 batting average, blasting two home runs among his 10 hits while driving in seven runs and scoring nine times himself, combining offensive firepower with solid defensive play in the outfield.
Pitcher of the Week – Jadon Williamson
Lewis-Clark State College’s Jadon Williamson dominated his way to CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors, striking out 15 Eastern Oregon batters during seven scoreless innings in the 24th-ranked Warriors’ 11-3 victory. The Longview senior was nearly untouchable on the mound, surrendering just six hits while posting a perfect 0.00 ERA and impressive 0.86 WHIP in his masterful performance.
Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC)
Hitter of the Week – Brayden Oram
Uncommitted sophomore Brayden Oram from Lower Columbia College earned Hitter of the Week honors after going 9-for-21 (.429) with a double, 4 RBI, 3 runs scored, 5 walks, and 4 stolen bases. Oram is hitting .313 with a .414 OBP, 3 XBH, and 5 stolen bases.
Pitcher of the Week – Nicho Crowley
Uncommitted sophomore Nicho Crowley from Olympic College struck out a career-high 14 batters over 6 shutout innings on the road against Edmonds. This marks back-to-back six-inning shutout performances with his start at Umpqua where Crowley had 7 strikeouts.
