Warner Pacific and Eastern Oregon split a double-header, Lewis-Clark State swept Corban.

Lewis-Clark State 15, Corban 5 at Lewiston, ID. Halted by the run rule after seven innings. Corban (both teams are the Warriors) led this game 1-0 after three innings, but Lewis-Clark State scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning*, including a two-RBI triple by Jack Sheward and a two-run home run by Jakob Marquez. Marquez hit a three-run home run from the opposite side of the plate in the fifth inning. Bulla Ephan hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh and Seth Nelson hit an RBI double to give L-C State an 11-run lead going into the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Clay led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run to cut the lead to ten runs, but Corban couldn’t get any closer.

Starter Evan Canfield got the win; he pitched five innings, allowed four runs (two of them earned) on six hits, struck out four, walked four. Chris Shaffer (transfer from Cal State San Bernardino) got the loss. Charlie Updegrave finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI for L-C State. Box score

Lewis-Clark State 11, Corban 5. Lewis-Clark State led this one all the way, and got the winning run in the top of the fourth inning* with a two-RBI single by Jack Sheward. They put it away with a solo home run by Ike George and a two-run home run by Charlie Updegrave in the seventh inning.

L-C State got another strong start from Jadon Williamson; five innings pitched, three runs (all unearned) on three hits, nine strikeouts, no walks, and the main blemish was a two-run home run by Ryan Clay. Jackson Cloud went the rest of the way, allowed one earned run (the only one of the game for Corban) on two hits, struck out two. Josephan Gonzalez got the loss. George finished 5-for-6 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBI. Clay finished 3-for-4. Box score recap

* This game was moved from Keizer, OR to Lewiston because of weather. Corban was the home team.

Warner Pacific 10, Eastern Oregon 2 at Hermiston, OR. Ayden Yaeger and Kaden Hindman combined to limit the Mountaineers to one earned run, a home run by Trevor Baker, on eight hits. Yaeger pitched the first seven innings, allowed seven hits, struck out six, threw 99 pitches.

The Knights got two runs in the second inning on a double by Connor Hale. They got the winning run in the third inning on a two-run home run by Jarrod Seibel. Mason Deverna added a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

The Knights had 16 hits, and Hale got five of them. Three of his hits were doubles, and he had four RBI. Shane Sinclair got the loss. Box score

Will Seslar

Eastern Oregon 6, Warner Pacific 2. Good ball game. Will Seslar shut out the Knights for seven innings, allowed four hits, struck out nine, walked one. The Mountaineers led 1-0 when he left the game, on a sacrifice fly by Greyson McDaniel. Seslar was relieved by Zakaia Michaels, and the Knights took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth on a solo home run by Mitchell Thoma-Britt and an RBI single by Trenten Low. The Mountaineers tied it 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth with an unearned run on an RBI single by Alex Olague. They proceeded to load the bases with nobody out with a bunt single by McDaniel. Danny Burns hit a single to give the Mountaineers a 3-2 lead. The Knights got a force at home for the first out of the inning, but McDaniel then scored on a wild pitch. Tyler Balkenbush and Trevor Baker hit RBI singles before the Knights finally got out of the inning. Shawn Hunt opened the top of the ninth by reaching on an error, but Michaels struck out the next batter, then got a double play ball to end the game.

Michaels got the win, and Brady Windham got the loss. The Knights got a good start from Josiah Nickel; he pitched seven innings, allowed only one earned run on six hits, threw 110 pitches. Burns and Carson Gerding both finished 2-for-3 for the Mountaineers, and Gerding hit a double. Lowe went 2-for-4. Box score
