First game: #5 seed Oregon Tech 13, #3 College of Idaho 10 – College of Idaho eliminated. The Coyotes were dominant in the early going; they led 6-2 after 3 1/2 innings. The Hustlin’ Owls tied it in the bottom of the fourth with a grand slam home run by Nick Gimino. The Owls took a 10-8 lead in the bottom of the sixth with a two-RBI single by Jacob Cook. The Coyotes tied it again in the top of the seventh with a two-run home run by Jack Ryan. It remained tied until the bottom of the eighth, when Andrew Sharp hit a three-run home run to win it.
A big part of the credit for the win goes to relief pitcher Aiden Lundquist. He entered the game with one out in the seventh inning, after the Ryan home run, with runners on first and second. He immediately got a double play to get out of the inning. After that, he retired every batter he faced, striking out two in the top of the eighth, and two more in the top of the ninth, to slam the door on any comeback by the Coyotes.
Zaylor Bruegeman got the loss; it was Willy Shirts who gave up the Sharp home run, but Bruegeman was charged with the two runners on base. Gimino was 3-for-4 for the game; he had a double in addition to the home run. Darren Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, and two RBI for the Coyotes.

Second game: #1 Lewis-Clark State 2, #2 British Columbia 1. The Thunderbirds got a run in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI single by Matt Vanslyke. They didn’t score again. The Warriors were kept off the board by Will Anderson until the sixth inning, when the Warriors tied it with a sacrifice fly by Jackson Reed. The winning run came an inning later; Bo Stinson scored when Sam Weber reached on a fielder’s choice.
Warrior starter Mason Goodson went seven innings, allowed five hits, struck out six. The second inning was the only time a runner got to second base while he was on the mound. He picked off a baserunner, and another was caught stealing. The Thunderbirds got a runner to third base with two out in the bottom of the eighth. They had the bases loaded with two out in the bottom of the ninth, but the game ended with a ground out.
Zach Elsos pitched the ninth inning for the Warriors, got a save. He allowed one hit, struck out two. Anderson pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowed one run on five hits, struck out three. Owen McConnell got the loss. Izzy Madariaga was the only Warrior with two hits. Vanslyke finished 2-for-3, Braeden Scott finished 2-for-4.
There were a lot of good defensive plays in this game, and Thunderbird Kellen Bourne made two of them in left field. He robbed Cade Westerlund of a home run in the second inning.
