Power surged across the PNW summer collegiate landscape on a night filled with multi-homer explosions and clutch pitching. Malachi Noet and Bo Stinson each launched two home runs, while Kai Mault delivered a four-hit, four-RBI masterclass to anchor Portland’s big offensive night. On the mound, Mitch Haythorn carved through seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, and several arms turned in dominant relief outings. Tight, back-and-forth battles — including Port Angeles’ 2-1 thriller and DubSea’s wild 9-8 victory — added plenty of drama to another summer evening of baseball.
West Coast League
Port Angeles 2, Bellingham 1
Xander Cypher delivered a gem for the Lefties, tossing 6 scoreless innings with 4 hits, 4 strikeouts, and 2 walks to earn the win. Garrett Patterson went 3-for-4 with a double to pace the offense, while Kaleb Cambell provided the decisive blow with a two-run double in the seventh. Jake Lyall led the Bells with two hits and their only RBI in a tightly contested 2-1 loss. Both teams combined for 16 hits in a pitchers’ duel that was decided late.
Edmonton 9, Marion 2
The Riverhawks exploded for nine runs on 14 hits, led by Mitchell Middlemiss (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI), Jason Green (2-for-5, 2 RBI), and Jaxon Fox (2-for-4, 2 RBI). Owen Combs threw three shutout innings with four strikeouts in relief. Shiryu Sato added a double and RBI as Edmonton pulled away early. The Berries managed just two late runs on seven hits in the lopsided defeat.
Wenatchee 2, Kelowna 1
Mitch Haythorn was outstanding for the AppleSox, throwing seven scoreless innings with five hits, nine strikeouts, and one walk. Landon White provided the first run with a solo homer, and Zach Doyle added an RBI sacrifice fly. Jacob Loving paced the Falcons with three hits, while Josh Cunnigan drove in their lone run in the ninth. Wenatchee held on for the narrow victory.
Kamloops 4, Victoria 2
Grady Baetz earned the win for the NorthPaws with seven strong innings (five hits, one earned run, four strikeouts). Brock Grainger launched a solo homer, and Kenner Lauterbach added a double and RBI. Daniel Tovar turned in a scoreless four-inning relief effort for the HarbourCats. Victoria scratched across two unearned runs but couldn’t overcome the early deficit.
Springfield 10, Corvallis 1
The Drifters rolled to a 10-1 victory behind a balanced attack led by Hunter Meyer (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI, 2 runs), Nick Gimino (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI), and Cooper Mullens (2-for-5, two doubles, 2 RBI). Jack Klee earned the win with 5.2 innings of one-run ball. Diego Cruz had two hits and two stolen bases for the Knights in a rough night overall.
Portland 13, Ridgefield 10
Kai Mault powered the Pickles with a 4-for-6 night including a homer and four RBI. Grafton Stroup (2-for-4, double, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Tanner Johns (homer, 2 RBI) fueled a big sixth inning. Connor Priddy locked down three perfect relief innings for the win. The Raptors mounted a late eight-run rally but fell short in the high-scoring affair.
Nanaimo 8, Bend 4
Malachi Noet went deep twice with three RBI for the NightOwls, while Ethan Reynolds collected four hits including two doubles. Kaleb Tenn earned the win with five strong innings (three hits, one earned run, seven strikeouts). Jacob Hayes added a homer. The Elks fought back with four runs but couldn’t keep pace.
Walla Walla 18, Yakima Valley 3
The Sweets erupted for 18 runs on 16 hits, paced by Trevor Tse (4-for-5, triple, 5 runs, 2 SB), Bo Stinson (two homers, 4 RBI), and Sam Kane (two doubles, 4 RBI). Charles Rogers III set the tone with four scoreless innings. Malikhi Emery-Henderson had two hits and an RBI for the Pippins in the blowout loss.
Pacific International League
DubSea Fish Sticks 9, Seattle 8
Noah Benedict went 3-for-4 with two doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 runs, while Braden Bartholomae added 3-for-5 with 2 RBI, 2 runs, and a stolen base for the Fish Sticks. Isaac Watson tossed 3.1 innings of one-run relief (4 hits, 1 K, 0 BB) to secure the victory. Micah Bartle (1-for-3, double, 3 RBI) and Michael Singleton (1-for-2, double, 3 RBI) powered the Blackfins in the high-scoring loss.
Everett 7, Seattle Cheney Studs 5
Tommy Zook earned the win with 4.2 innings (4 hits, 1 earned run, 2 strikeouts), and Owen Rolling followed with 2.1 hitless, shutout innings and four strikeouts for the Merchants. Billy Kooy went 2-for-5 with two doubles and 3 RBI, while TJ Armstrong added 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI. Jeramiah Crain (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI) and Ryan Spero (2-for-4, R) led the Studs.
Dudes 15, Northwest Honkers 10
Brodie Geohagan went 3-for-5 with a homer, 4 RBI, and 2 runs to lead the Dudes. Austin Endresen added 3-for-5 with a homer, 2 RBI, and 2 runs. Kenny Chiu threw 4 innings of relief (2 hits, 1 earned run, 4 strikeouts), and Ethan Keene drew 4 walks with 2 runs and an RBI. For the Honkers, Singleton went 2-for-5 with a double and 4 RBI, while Alex Chamberlin (3-for-5, HR, RBI) and Seamus Browne (1-for-3, HR, RBI) added long balls.
