British Columbia and Lewis-Clark State split a doubleheader, Oregon Tech defeated Bushnell, and Warner Pacific swept Corban.
Lewis-Clark State
13, British Columbia 3 at
Lewiston, OR. Halted by the run rule after seven innings. The game
was tied 3-3 after three innings, but the Warriors blew it open with
seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, starting with a single by Ike
George, then two-RBI doubles by Charlie Updegrave and Jakob Marquez,
Marquez scoring on a throwing error, and an RBI single by Izzy
Madariaga. Updegrave hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the
seventh to give the Warriors the ten-run margin.
Warrior
starter Jadon Williamson left the game with a pain in his elbow after
throwing only 18 pitches. Jackson Cloud went the rest of the way,
allowed three runs on five hits, struck out eight, threw 95 pitches.
Thunderbird starter Ryan Beitel got the loss. Updegrave finished
3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and five RBI. Madariaga
finished 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. box

Columbia 9, Lewis-Clark State 8. Russell
Young hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to
give the Thunderbirds a 9-4 lead. They needed all three of those
runs. The Warriors goth three runs in the bottom of the eighth. The
first RBI was the result of Noah Weintraub hitting a ball back to the
mound. Then Jack Sheward hit a two-RBI double, and the Thunderbird
lead was down to 9-7. James Brock, who had pitched 2 1/3 innings, was
relieved by Evan Hoegler. Hoegler got two fly outs to end the eighth
inning. He started off the bottom of the ninth with a strikeout and a
fly out. Then Izzy Madariaga hit a home run to make it a one-run
game. However, Hoegler struck out Weintraub to end it.
The
Thunderbirds led all the way. They got three runs in the top of the
first on an RBI single by Trent Lenihan, an RBI double by Aaron
Marsh, and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Yip. The Warriors got two runs in
the bottom of the third with an RBI on a ground out by Ike George and
an RBI double by Jack Sheward. The Thunderbirds got three more runs
in the fourth with and RBI single by Jonny McGill (which chased
Warrior starter Evan Canfield), Lenihan getting an RBI by reaching on
an error, and Marsh hitting a sacrifice fly. The Warriors made it 6-4
in the bottom of the sixth with a home run by Brandon Cabrera and an
RBI double by Weintraub.
Thunderbird
starter Will Anderson got the win; he pitched five innings, allowed
two runs on five hits, struck out two. Hoegler got a save. Canfield
got the loss. Tucker Grote held the Thunderbirds hitless for the
final two innings. Sheward finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and
three RBI. Madariaga finished 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, and
an RBI. Weintraub finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. box

British
Columbia will win the conference pennant and host the conference
tournament if they win at least one of the two remaining games on
Saturday and Sunday. Madariaga was 7-for-9 with two home runs for
the day.
Oregon Tech 11,
Bushnell 1 at Klamath Falls,
OR. Halted by the run rule after seven innings. The Hustlin’ Owls
got all the runs they needed in the bottom of the first with a
two-RBI single by Matthew Ortiz. Ka’ala Tam is a three RBI double
in the sixth inning to give the Owls an 11-0 lead. Will Hudler scored
in a passed ball in the top the seventh to end the shutout, but the
Owls still had a ten-run lead.
Tim
Williams got the win. He pitched six innings, allowed no runs on two
hits, struck out three. Austin Wolfe got the loss. Patrick Barry went
3-for-3 for the Owls, scored four runs. Tam was credited with four
RBI, and the Owls also scored a run when he hit into a double play.

The
second game of the doubleheader was suspended by rain in the top of
the seventh with the game tied 10-10. Three RBI for Jordan Wilson for
the Beacons. The win in the first game clinched third place in the
conference for the Hustlin’ Owls, and the Beacons have finished
fourth. recap
Warner Pacific 9,
Corban 5 at Aurora, OR. The
Warriors led 5-0 going into the bottom of the sixth, but the Knights
scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, with a run scored on a
ground out by Mason Deverna, a two-run home run by Connor Hale, a run
scored on a hit batter, an RBI when Giovanny Alvillar reached on a
fielder’s choice, and a run scored by Jarrod Seibel on an error.
Alex Nisbet added a two-run home run in the seventh.
Ayden
Yaeger pitched six innings for the Knights, allowed five runs on six
hits, struck out four, got the win. Jaxon Hamada pitched the final
three innings, allowed no hits, struck out three. Jackson Young got
the loss. Nisbet was the only Knight with two hits. Noah Owens had
two hits for the Warriors. box

Pacific 16, Corban 5. Halted
by the run rule after seven innings. The Warriors led 4-2 going into
the bottom of the third, but the Knights scored six runs in the
bottom of the third (Trenten Lowe scored on an error for the winning
run), then put it away with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth,
with two runs walked in and another on a hit batter. Lowe finished
3-for-4 with an RBI. Ryan Clay went 3-for-4 for the Warriors. Peyton
Rickard and Lucas Mertlich hit home runs for the Warriors. box
