Game 12: Linn-Benton 7, Umpqua 5 (UCC eliminated)

The Linn-Benton Roadrunners outlasted Umpqua 7-5 in a thrilling 10-inning elimination game at the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship on Sunday at David Story Field. The game was scoreless through four innings until Linn-Benton broke through in the fifth. Conner Boyd scored on Andrew Demianew’s RBI single, followed by Jake Dodge’s two-run homer, giving the Roadrunners a 3-0 lead. Umpqua stormed back in the seventh, loading the bases with one out. Tristan Schaefer’s RBI single, Carson Dunn’s two-RBI single, and Zane Bidwell’s RBI single gave Umpqua a 4-3 lead, with Dunn scoring on a wild pitch to make it 5-3. Linn-Benton tied it in the eighth when Brooks Avery’s two-RBI single, aided by Umpqua errors, scored Jake Holmes and Chase Logan. In the 10th, Boyd and Kolten Lindstrom singled, advanced on a wild pitch, and Demianew’s two-RBI single put Linn-Benton ahead 7-5. Caden Richardson pitched 6.2 innings for Linn-Benton, allowing five runs (four earned). Ryan Rivers earned the win with 3.1 scoreless innings. Umpqua’s AJ Victoravich allowed five runs (three earned) over seven innings. Demianew led with three hits and three RBIs. Linn-Benton advances to face Spokane on Monday.

Game 13: Spokane 6, Tacoma 5

Facing elimination, the Spokane Sasquatch fended off a late Tacoma rally to secure a 6-5 victory in a winners’ bracket game at the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship on Sunday at David Story Field. Tacoma jumped ahead in the first when Amari Goodfellow’s two-RBI single scored Vaughn Lowe and Logan Shepherd, making it 2-0. Spokane responded in the second, as Cooper Davis’s RBI triple plated Drew Stevens, followed by Cole Krepcik’s RBI single to tie it at 2-2. In the third, Chase Edwards scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded, giving Spokane a 3-2 lead. Jalen King’s RBI single and Edwards’ RBI single in the fourth pushed the lead to 5-2. Davis added another RBI single in the fifth, scoring Pedro Quero for a 6-3 edge. Tacoma mounted a ninth-inning rally, with Jailon Goodfellow’s RBI double and Chase Cretti’s RBI single cutting it to 6-5, but Tyler Alm induced a flyout to secure the save. Nathan Fitzpatrick earned the win, allowing three runs over 5.2 innings. Tacoma’s Conor Beard took the loss, yielding three runs in three innings. Davis, Edwards, King, and Quero each had two hits for Spokane, while Shepherd led Tacoma with three. Spokane advances to face Linn-Benton on Monday with winner facing Tacoma afterwards in a winner-take-all title game.
